It was a bright, sunny morning, perfect for a day at the park! Maya hopped out of bed, ready for some fun. But before she zoomed out the door, her grandma stopped her with a smile.
"Hold on there, sunshine! Remember our healthy hero rules?" Grandma winked.
Maya scrunched her nose, trying to remember. "Uh, gotta be strong like a superhero?"
"Close!" Grandma chuckled. "We gotta take care of our bodies like superheroes take care of the world!"
Suddenly, it clicked! "Exercise to be strong, wash hands to fight yucky germs, drink water to stay powered up, and cover my mouth when I cough or sneeze – just like a shield!" Maya recited proudly.
"Exactly!" Grandma ruffled Maya's hair. "And don't forget sunblock for sunny days like this. We don't want the sun to be our enemy!"
At the park, Maya swung high on the monkey bars, feeling like a real hero (exercise!).
She chased her friends, giggling, then remembered to wash her hands on the playground fountain (wash hands!).
Feeling a bit thirsty after all that fun, she gulped down some water from her water bottle (drink water!).
Suddenly, a little boy next to her sneezed. Maya quickly covered her mouth with her arm (cover mouth!).
"Bless you!" she said politely.
Later that week, Maya went for her annual checkup (checkup!).
This time, she saw a friendly dentist (dentist) who checked her sparkly smile.
"Wow, Maya, you've been taking good care of your teeth!" the dentist beamed.
Next door, Maya saw her doctor (doctor) who listened to her heartbeat and checked her ears. "You're a healthy superhero, Maya!" the doctor said with a thumbs-up.
Maya beamed. Taking care of her body was just like being a superhero – it kept her strong, healthy, and ready for any adventure!
